Default Questions about Colorado Springs (& Colorado In general)

I know some of these questions may have been answered before. Please respond to them here.

1) I read that Colorado Springs, Co. is the 6th most conservative city in the US. Is this true? Personally, I greatly hope it is. How conservative is the state in general? I considered moving to Provo, UT, but Colorado seems the better choice, as long as its still conservative.

2) How is biking in the city?

3) Is there a lot of outdoor activities (lakes & hiking mainly) to do?

Have you used the advanced search tool?

Where did you read the conservative city statistic? How was this measured? What is meant by conservative anyway? Narrow minded? Financially responsible?

What line of work are you in?
Where are you moving from?
Are you buying or renting? Budgets?
Married?
Kids?

I know very little about Colorado Springs, so I'll defer to my more learned friends regarding that topic.

Re: conservatism - it's a different animal here than in some parts of the country. Many people here are fairly Libertarian, e.g. live and let live, don't want govt. interference. Some, IMO, go off the deep end on libertarianism. Colorado elects Democrats and Republicans state-wide. Right now, we have a Democratic governor, a Democratic US Senator, Ken Salazar, and a Republican senator, Wayne Allard. I believe the Democrats have a slight edge in the Colorado legislature. This is not always the case. It goes back and forth, so I would say we are balanced.

PS: Yes, lots of hiking. NO, not a lot of lakes suitable for motor-boating.
