Default Teaching Jobs in Colorado Springs

Hello! I have searched some of the postings, and still couldn't find my answer. So here is my question: What is the market in Colorado Springs like for teachers? My husband, 1-year old daughter, and I are relocating to Colorado in the late spring. I recently applied for the Colorado Teaching license, and I hold a Pennsylvania License in Social Studies and currently teach middle school Social Studies. How difficult is it for Social Studies teachers to find teaching jobs in the C.S. area? Any suggestions for school districts in need? Thanks! We are really excited about living in Colorado!

Report Card on Colorado Schools: School Accountability Report - School Search
Use the MAP feature listed at right, drill down to County and then Community to see local schools and their rating, which tells you something. This data can be used in conjunction with the data on REALTOR.com - Real Estate Listings & Homes For Sale, which tells you the names of schools serving a given house listed in the MLS.

A new HS (Palmer Ridge HS?) opens in D38 in Aug 2008. I believe a new HS open in D49 in the near future, too.

There are a number of School Districts in COL SPGS area. Try these sites to find them:

I work for Falcon 49 and we are pretty much cannot keep up with the growth. I know of two school that are proposed to be built in the next 3-4 years and I'm sure more on the way.

There are quite a few jobs for teachers I would say, especially in the NE part of town, which is growing by leaps and bounds.

Thanks Wink182, it's nice to hear that there are jobs! Here in western PA there is little to be found. Now all I need is the CDE to send me my license for Colorado (it's taking forever! ).

I know district 20 just opened two new elementary schools this year. My son's school is in a new development and the school only has one class of each grade level, next year I'm sure it will be growing and they'll need more teachers. Our neighbor just got hired on as a gifted and talented teacher at my sons school. she found the job opening listed on the district 20 website. Hope this helps
