We currently rent a room from a friend of my fiancee for $375 a month. We have been given notice, and need to move out by the end of november.

We think our budget can handle $500 in rent.

Does anyone know of an apartment complex that they could recommend in this price range? Hopefully in a good area? And pretty close to Peterson AFB would be good.

Also, about how much would utilities for an apartment cost during the winter?

This is quite a bit stressful, as there was no warning, so any help is appreciated.

Did you try searching on sites like allapartments.com, forrent.com, craigslist.com, etc? A couple of those sites let you search by zip code or nearby landmarks.

I have looked at a few, but there are so many listings, and ofcourse you can't go by the pictures. I picked out 4 off of forrent.com and went looking yesterday.1 looked good, all though I haven't seen inside an apartment yet, one looked really run down and dirty, one wasn't at the address listed, and the fourth, while it looked very nice on the outside and in the clubhouse, was very dingy inside the show apartment.

Now, while I understand that I wont get anything fancy for $500, I am hoping for clean, in good repair, and safe.

The apartment listing websites are all well and good, but personal knowledge of some of these places from people in the area might be alot more helpful.

I will continue using these sites, but again, if anyone has any specific suggestions of complexes, I would love to hear them.

Thank you.
