Check with the El Paso County Probate Court. Your lease died with the tenant, but your concern about the contents is valid.

As a landlord myself you will need to keep the contents in storage (at your expense, of course) for 30 days.

If no one claims it you can sell the stuff.

Oh, my my friends who have 90 properties in the area and I know of one
suicide, geeze, got back to me and said place in storage for 1 yr.
Sorry, now u will have to REALLY look it up bec of the 2 messages.

My friends over the years have been thru so much as u can imagine.
The husband has a brain like a banker...he knows and remembers everything, all
his wheeling and dealing, my gosh.
So, the wife txted me, I'm sure she asked him to be sure....but let us know which it is.

To repeat - check with the Probate Court. Thirty days storage. One year storage. If the party died intestate, and without near relations, the property may well belong to the State! Do you really want them on your case?
