I live further down southeast in springs. My rent is $400/month for somewhere around 500 sqft. My place is a little older, and cheaply built, but well maintained.

I was looking to live in the north area as it is closer to Progressive. I know they have a place across the street but I would not want to be that close. I have found some places that look decent in the 80922 and 80920 which is within a couple of miles.
I would want a garage so I dont have to shovel out the car every winter and also a need a washer/dryer. Here in Tampa I pay $769 for a one bedroom 700 sq ft with some pretty nice ammenities. I know I should take a trip out to Colorado to see if I like it or not. Are there any negatives other than the snow? |

I live in Talon Hill apartments in the 80921 zip. They have attached garages and washer & dryer in the unit. They're really nice and could be in the area you're looking for based on the 2 zips you mentioned. There's also a cheaper, but very nice complex 2 miles north - Ridge Point I think it is. Also in the 80921 zip. They only have carports though (but do have the in-apt wash & dryer). They're off of Gleneagle and I-25.

The only non-positive I can think of is what I have read on City-Data and that is some parts of Colorado Springs (probably especially the northern side) might be more family oriented??? If you like traditional single person interests (clubs, bands, bars, etc) maybe it is a little boring??? Otherwise I'm sure there are sports leagues, night classes, and other activities for singles. In California I was single in a family environment and these are the challenges I faced. (Heck, even though I am not religious at all I joined church groups just to meet chicks. It worked.)
I don't think the snow is that much of a negative. This year it was in COS off and on for a few days at a time through the winter but not that bad. |

Thanks for the last two posts that does help. I am single but I honestly prefer that where I live it is nicer and quiet. I do like to go out on occassion but hear if I drive 20 to 30 minutes that I could find a club or two.
Also, I am mainly into country music as a preference. Is there enough of that type of scene out there? |

Talon Hills is beautiful. I fell in love with that place, but was a bit out of my price range. I do live in Ridgepoint, does have washer and dryer as well as non-attached garages for an extra cost(was $50/month, not sure if it's gone up as I don't have one). When I hear carport I think of those open parking spaces with a cover over them. Ridgepoint has full garage, just not attached to the apartments.
Can't really think of any negatives. There are some annoyances, but you'll find those anywhere. Can't really think of anything I really hate about this place. Snow isn't too bad. It melts fast. I was hoping to take some wintry type of pictures, but every time it snowed, the snow was gone before I got out to take some pictures. |
