OCC is funky, but safe. I've traveled through quite a bit of it when I was living in an apartment o the West side, and we were going through there frequently en route to visit things on that side of the city. Living in the North East suburbs now I kind of miss the proximity to things like bear creek.

I am from MN as well. I used to live out in CA as well. OCC is fine, little more crowded than some areas but its not bad.

I do like CO a lot more than MN as a whole, but there are going to be things you miss about MN. I like MN falls and some summer days when the humidity isn't there. Lakes, green, trees, etc. But CO smokes MN in terms of weather, and COS has a lot less traffic. less taxes as well.
