Between LPHS and PCHS, I believe PC is larger and may have more academics, extracurricular activities, sports, etc. However, they are building a 2nd LPHS because Monument is growing and the town is in desperate need of a 2nd HS.

My husband used to teach at Challenger MS - it is D20's Technology magnet middle school and I know the Tech teacher there is new but has majorly revamped the tech program. Pine Creek is the technology magnet high school (I think). Rampart HS and Mountain Ridge MS are the IB schools, but I believe PC is in the process of becoming an IB school. (My husband now teaches IB English at Rampart HS).

Rampart HS, Challenger MS, PCHS....all are rated Excellent schools. I'm not too familiar w/ Monument schools but the ones you are looking at in D20 are rated Excellent. You can't go wrong with any of those.

I do work with 3 gals in my department who all live in Monument. They basically wanted land with the house....lots of acreage. So if you are wanting more of a forest-y type feel to your home and neighborhood, you will like Monument.

Pine Creek is a nice area for homes and shops. I just feel I should have picked Monument for more space between homes.

Pine Creek was rated really high and Im hopeful, but when I went to visit the school it seemed a little dirty to me. There was food all over the floor everywhere. Maybe because we went around lunch time, but the schools my children were in prior to this did not allow this at all.

Im probably just used to the extreamly upkept schools where we came from back East.

Im sure it will take time to adjust, hope all goes well.
