Hello all. I am new to the Colorado forum and was just wondering if there were campgrounds in CO which allow park model RV's. We are currently living in Massachusetts but plan to retire in AZ. and would like to maybe have a park model RV in a nice campground in Colorado for the summertime. Anyone know how to research this? I've looked up campgrounds but do not really see this kind of information. I know there are campgrounds here in Mass. that allow park model RV's and charge maybe $3000.00/yr and of course the RV stays at the campground year round. Thanks for any info?

Wouldn't you find better information by going to one of the RV forums on-line? There's a whole lot of information out there from people who RV year round. I know that there's a "permanent" RV park in South Park near Trout Creek Pass, but don't know the name.

I found the following just by Googling "rv forum":

I am not sure if this place is what you are looking for, but I know someone who lives in a RV here and really likes it there. Lots of wildlife, nice area. Crystal Kangaroo Campground | Pikes Peak Area, South Central, Colorado | Colorado Vacation Directory

Mike, a park model RV is one that is a kind of "permanent rv structure". One that you do not trailer around but move to one spot and leave it there. Almost looks like a small cabin but built on a mobile frame.

Hi Hawaii. It's not really an RV for traveling around and that is why I didn't look in the RV forums. It is more for finding a place you like and leave it there for 20 years ha ha ha.

What are Park Models?
They are not mobile homes, mobile homes are low-cost permanent housing. Park Models are designed as a 400 square-foot movable resort cottage, usually for part-time recreational use. Technically, they are classified as an RV--Recreational Vehicle, so they can be placed in campsites in some of the most sought-after vacation destinations in the country!

Where Do I Place My Park Model?
Many private campgrounds and RV resorts provide sites for Park Models. Most people place their Park Model a few hours away from home so it can be used as a weekend retreat. Park Models provide beautiful and affordable housing. Retirees like Park Models - They keep one up North for use in the summer and another in the South for the winter and enjoy the best of both worlds!

Park Models are Affordable & Convenient!
Park Models cost less than the price of a Motor Home, Fifth Wheel, Mobile Home or permanent housing. In most cases there are no building permits or property taxes! And if you decide to try a new location, your Park Model can be easily and affordably moved!
