If you're relatively young and without kids, Colorado Springs is pretty boring. Nothing happens...ever. Zero nightlife. If your idea of an interesting Friday or Saturday night is to hang out at home, then ok, because that's pretty much all there is to do. The restaurant selection is bad, particularly if you like eating at places that aren't chains. If you're coming from a place like NYC you'll find Colorado Springs to be quiet, possibly a little too quiet.

Don't get me wrong, Colorado Springs is a very nice place. I grew up there (North CS, near the Academy) and visit often. People are friendly, there's very little crime, the weather is good (as long as you don't mind a little cold), and the scenery excellent. It's just a boring place to live. Although it's my hometown, I view it as a bit of a vacation city; the kind where you go to get away and relax rather than the one that has a lot of things going on.
