I know there are a hundred of these posts on here so I apologize if this is a repost. I have been reading this board trying to do research on the area, but haven't seen this exact question.

We are moving to the area in May. DH is in the Army and will be stationed at Ft Carson. I have read all about where to live in COS and had my eyes on Stetson Hills. That was until we found out how long of a commute it would be. DH will be working near (to the West of) Butts Airfield. To my understanding (strictly coming from googlemaps, lol, so please correct me if I'm wrong) this is an extra 15 minutes or so added on to the normal commute of where most people at Carson would work. DH would like to keep his commute to 25 minutes or less. Would this pretty much limit us to living in Fountain? I'd love to hear any neighborhood suggestions outside of Fountain that wouldn't be too long of a commute, but also a safe area. I'm a bit frustrated as it seems like all of the "stay away from this neighborhood" areas are the ones closest to the post. Budget is $1300/mo for 3 bedrooms. We have a 2 yr old and a 3 yr old so school district isn't a concern right now (who knows if we'll still be there come kindergarten).

I'm also looking for a pediatrician recommendation if anyone has one.

TIA!

Look in the Cheyenne Meadows neighborhood around Quail Lake.
