IT Jobs in CSprings
Hello everyone!
I live in Northern VA and work in DC. I am quite sick of the weather/traffic/ and housing market here so my wife and I decided to move to Colorado. We visited this past summer and fell in love with the area. CSprings seemed like a good fit for us because of my line of work. I am a Database/Systems Administrator with almost 9 years of experience in the Government Contracting IT field. If anyone has any open jobs with their company please let me know. Maybe you could get a referral bonus out of it.
This forum is a great resource. I have spent hours reading it today. Thanks for contributing to it!

Many years ago....like 45 years ago....my nickname was Chad...and yes, lived 31 years in Fairfax County - Chantilly.
See this thread for ideas of prices in the area. http://www.city-data.com/forum/denve...ml#post2224080
Lots of IT jobs in COL SGPS and Denver. If you have an ACTIVE clearance you should be able to do well with all the DoD work in COL SPGS. If you haven't already done this, search on keywords: jobs employment tech boeing lockheed clearance federal government systems database oracle
You're gonna love Colorado.

I've lived in Northern VA for 29 years. I currently live in Kingstown Alexandria. I'm definitely ready for change. Thanks for the tips!

Chad, forget to add, search on Vonage for yet another job hunting tip for your resume.
Another regular on here is Charles, he's in the IT biz with DoD, and will probably log in later with some advice.

I saw the vonage tip earlier! I might actually activate an old phone of mine through verizon and turn on call forwarding. Verizon charges $10 for an extra line. Vonage charges $24 I think.

Do you have an active clearance? If so, as Mike said, there are plenty of jobs to be had. What contractor are you working for now? There are several out here, big ones include LockMart, NG, and SAIC. There are tons of smaller companies that are subbed out. Give a little bit more background and I'll see if I can help.

I work for BAE Systems IT right now. They don't have many open jobs in Colorado. I do have an active clearance as well. I have resumes into SAIC, Northrop Grumman, LockMart, Sparta, Raytheon, and a few others I cannot remember at this hour in the morning Northrop has been the only one to show any interest, but not enough to give me more than a recruiters preliminary interview. I appreciate any help you can give. Hopefully by the end of today I will have a "719" phone number too.

Others are BoeCorp, Torch, General Dynamics, probably five or ten others.
Also check southern Denver - From northern COS you can get to jobs in both regions.

Yeah, Denver Tech Center will have alot more commercial type jobs. Have you thought about civil service? There seems to be a nice flow of IT related jobs (GS-2210-xx) type jobs in the area lately.
Do you have any military time?

Thanks for the suggestion Postal. I do not have any military time.
I forgot to mention earlier I have applied for a number of civilian jobs through usajobs.gov and other sites. I have made the "list" for a MWR job at Ft. Carson, but haven't heard anything else yet. I think I will see more activity after the new year.
