PS. Don't drop the bachelor's from her resume. Employers almost never consider anyone over qualified. They believe that they deserve those applicants. I guarantee that BA is NOT hurting her chances when she is applying for a job that pays over min. wage.

With a B.A. she can receive a Colorado Substitute Teacher Authorization. It's typically on call so she can continue her job search. The pay varies a little per district. D11 pays $100 for a full day and $50 for a half day. Keep in mind that a full day is less than 8 hours so it's not bad. Certainly more than $11 an hour.

Has she considered a civil service job? Believe me, they won't be dismissing her due to education. Have her check out the El Paso County site, and check her areas of interest in the "job interest card." Then they'll send her notices via email when tests for those positions come up. There are a few available now, but they're just coming out of their summer recess. Fall, winter, and spring are when they recruit most for tests for openings (civil service works pretty much the same way all over). She should find plenty of administrative, clerical, and customer service positions she might be interested in. She can take multiple tests, too, and should. You never know what the situation might be like a few months from now.

Good news, she just landed a REAL decent gig with a school around here. Now she just has to wait for final approval to hire. The bureaucratic process is certainly a nightmare.
