I have lived in PA all of my life and haven't traveled much. I am taking the year off of school and want to see what else is out there. I would like to go to Colorado or somewhere similar because I want to get away from the east (and I love nature very much). So I'm looking for advice on good places for a 20 year old to live in CO and any environmental type groups in the area. Thank you!

Do you want to live in a big city, small town ... maybe a college town? More details will get you better answers. There are little mountain towns you can get lost in, or places like Denver for big city stuff, but of course still access to plenty of nature. Durango in the four corners area is a college town and the San Juans are awesome. Fort Collins has a young population (again, a college town). If you like to ski or snowboard, that might dictate where you end up.

In general - we have plenty of nature here, some areas more than others. Colorado is fun to visit and explore, no matter what you're looking for.

What kind of environmental group are you interested in? I might personally recommend Trails and Open Space Coalition TOSC | Trails and Open Space Coalition but it depends a lot on your interests.
