I am looking for an outdoor wedding location in the Colorado springs area. That can hold up to 200 people. Preferably inexpensive no more then $1500 for venue alone, very interested in parks and national forests just having a hard time finding ones that fit our budget. Thank you everyone!!

This thread ran earlier this year: Wedding ceremony locations - NO RECEPTION. Desperate for help.

Quite possibly some can add to these suggestions.

El Paso county parks has a wedding gazebo in Fox Run park that can accommodate up to 200 people:

I think you're dreaming if you think you can host a group that size in an undeveloped park area like a national forest. Do you expect to have 200 people all finding parking at the trailhead and hiking up the trail in their wedding attire? Are they going to sit on the ground during the ceremony? Somebody's sure to need a toilet, too -- are you going to pack one in?

dr.frog makes a good point. 200 people in an outdoor setting is going to be tricky. Maybe look into the gazebo in Green Mountain Falls? The Gazebo in Green Mountain Falls, Colorado Glen Eyrie might be able to accomodate you as well. Glen Eyrie - Weddings. I have no idea on prices but you can call and ask. Garden of the Gods would be nice but they don't have outdoor facilities for a group that large.

Try calling the city department of parks and rec at (719) 385-5940, the El Paso County Community Services Dept. (they're in charge of county parks) at (719) 520-7259 or the USFS local division at (719) 687-2921. The USFS number is for the Woodland Park station but maybe one of those numbers can direct you in the right place. Good luck!

This is posted on the FAQ page here: Pike and San Isabel National Forests Cimarron and Comanche National Grasslands - Districts

Q. Id like to have my wedding ceremony in the National Forest, how do I go about it?
A. Groups may assimilate at group campgrounds without a permit. Otherwise, a special permit may be required if a group size of 75 or more persons is anticipated. Contact the office at 303.275.5610 for details.
