Default Wife needs great restaurant to serve at.

My wife, kids and I will be jumping on the "moving to the Springs" bandwagon in May/June from the Portland, OR area. My wife works as a server at a local restaurant and would be looking for something similar to her existing, more or less ideal, situation. She works in one of the nicest restaurants (not fine dining but fairly posh) in Oregon's nicest/most overpriced suburb. She works 3 nights a week (15-20 hours a week) and will walk with anything from $80 - $120/night in tips (sometimes 50, sometimes 200). We would LOVE to have something lined up before or shortly after our arrival. Can you please be our friends and let us know what might be out there? PRETTY PLEASE. Maybe a list of a few places.... or a lead or two. Maybe send out an APB to all your server friends.

THANKS for always being kind and answering our constant list of annoying (probably already been asked) questions.

The Blue Star is an outstanding restaurant. Their management team also operates NOSH. Either would suit your needs, although NOSH is a lot more casual.

Chef Victor Matthews operates the Black Bear Inn in Green Mountain Falls, and is opening a high-end seafood restaurant in the Springs called Palapas (opening this Friday).

Peppertree
Sunbird
The Famous
MacKenzie's Chop House
Phantom Canyon
Briarhurst
Mona Lisa
Craftwood Inn
Paravacini's

There are a lot to choose from. Good luck.

Thumbs up Adams Mountain Cafe

Located in Manitou Springs, just 8 or so miles to the west of Colorado Springs. Impecable food (organic) very clean. Lovely place to dine. Good tips.

My sister used to work at the P.F. Chang's chinese restaurant in Colorado Springs, and I think she used to pull $75 to $100+ in tips most nights.

This is the second time I am suggesting this place tonight (though a first for this reason)! The Cliff House in Manitou, it is my family's favorite place to dine (for the food, not the ambiance) . Dinners there have ranged anywhere from $300 - $1200 (the lower number is more typical for a just a family dinner for 4 people and the higher number is more reserved for special occasions and elaborate dinners such as graduations etc. but still for a small amount of people (maybe 10-12)). Now of course, not everyone will take full advantage of the menu as my family does, and your wife would probably serve more couples than families, but I imagine it would be quite simple to make at least what your wife is making now by working there.

I don't know if the website will post or not but I will give it a try so you can check it out:
Dining

Anyway, I know this is a couple months late but good luck, I hope you are enjoying the Springs! (I miss it so much, my husband and I fly home every couple months!)

treedonkey will become famous soon enoughtreedonkey will become famous soon enough
There's also a Paravincini's in Palmer Lake. Also maybe try catering. I worked my way through college that way and I loved it. It was much less stress than waiting tables, but the same or better $$, depending on the company.
