Recently moved here and at present I have Verizon. I live in Meridian Ranch by Antler Creek Golf course. I get 4 bars out my back deck but get dropped calls and poor reception at times. I have looked into a cell phone booster but they are pretty spendy. I am out of contract with Verizon and could change to another company. I am retired and money is an issue. Is AT&T get better reception? Should I change carriers or buy a booster?? I do not have a landline. Thanks much!!

Where I live up on the Palmer Divide, I got really crappy reception at home. I bought a network extender from Verizon and it has really helped. Yes, it was not cheap (maybe $200?). One thing though that I find annoying is that often (but not always) I get that delay, so that I end up talking over when the other person is talking.

Another idea, if you have a landline too, is to forward your cell to your landline when you are at home.

I think Verizon is about as good as it gets.

talked to a verizon guy today and he said he hears that over and over---their is a tower close but he figured that something interferes with the signal---I had heard that at&t gets better reception---i do not mind getting a signal booster as I really do not want a land line and tons of robo calls etc. and it is more expensive anyway

Do you know anyone with AT&T where you could try it out at your place?

Our last house backed to the Antler Creek Golf course and we had AT &T and reception was fine. My husband always had more bars with his newer phone but we were both able to make calls and they didn't drop. (His work phone was through Verizon and there were some rooms in the house where he got no reception or calls dropped. He had to work from home at the dining room table in order to use his phone.)

We live in the same neighborhood (right near the golf club, too) and my husband has AT&T. He gets great reception here. He works from home and is on calls for business all day long and never has one drop.
