Who else finds September in Colorado Springs to be absolutely wonderful? It is the last day of August and I have the window next to my computer open and a slight breeze coming through as I get the day going. Technically it isn't fall yet, but we start having more of these days that are just absolutely perfect for the mountain lover. Fall and Spring may be fairly quick in Colorado, but I find them to be the majestic seasons.

Yes, fall is definitely in the air now! I think this may be the first year in my 21 years here that things have stayed green all summer long.

I love September! Incidentally, fall color has started - very early stages, but some high altitude aspen have some leaves turning yellow, some trees down here are showing signs, too!

Sept and Oct are my favorite months for sure.

I've been talking the last few days about how excited I am for the weather to start getting cooler.

Ready for a fall foliage trip as well.

Up in my neighborhood in Divide, there are plenty of aspen beginning to yellow. Fall is glorious in the mountains!

I usually love this time of year as well ... but this year allergies are making me miserable. There is stuff growing on my property that I've never seen before! Like alien plants that have been lying in wait for a rain-filled summer.

They're making me sneeze.

Ohh - I just noticed I'm only one dark green dot away from a light green dot! I hope the light green ones don't make me sneeze.

I heard yesterday that it will be a less than stellar year for the aspens due to a fungus that took hold during the wet spring and summer. I can tell the aspens in my own yard are not going to look good as they have looked a little 'off' for the past month or so.

From now until Halloween is my favorite time of the year in Colorado Springs.

The tourists have gone back to Kansas and Texas, the mornings and evenings become crisp and cool, the leaves start transitioning to yellows and reds and the air is fresh.

Colorado in the fall is glorious.
