What is the dating scene like in Colorado Springs? I am a single man thinking of making the Springs my new home.

Depends - what kind of places do you go for dates? In general, I've never heard anyone say we have a hopping dating scene.

Much better than small towns but our city has a bias that makes it far easier for young attractive ladies than for young attractive men. This is a military town. While some soldiers may not embody the self-discipline that the military teaches, enough of them do that you'll be competing with some very eligible bachelors.

I'd say the dating scene is widely variable based on your expectations. I've seen more than a few posts saying the dating scene in COS stinks. Demographically, COS is 51% female, so it shouldn't be awful, but 55% of those women are married, so it is potentially disproportioned. It is also varied by age bracket too.

My experience with dating in the Springs was predominately positive. I was able to get dates anytime I wanted them and met some great women along the way. However, I also was perfectly comfortable without having a date every weekend and as often as I was out with some one, I might have been off on my own or with other friends. But, I'll also admit I'm past the 24-35 age demographic so my experiences may have been significantly different than the current scene.

Denver or Boulder. The springs is rough on single men with all the military and people marrying early and what not. Very difficult to date in Colorado Springs as a man.

What does "dating" mean here, anyway? Being a frog, I'm puzzled by human mating rituals.....

I was dating before social media turned it into an electronic free for all, so I'm sure is has evolved into a rather disconnected and weird experience for a % of the experience, much like the online job application process has changed the whole work search. I can certainly see where lack of being media savvy and/or connected could significantly impact your prospects and activity level.

I still don't know whether "dating scene" refers to bars/clubs, or personal ads, or activity groups where one might meet a partner with similar interests, or propositioning random people in Walmart, or something else.... or whether the OP was primarily interested in getting laid or a committed long-term relationship. I'm clueless, but maybe other people would be better able to answer the OP's question if he were more specific about what he's looking for.

It would be best of the OP would clarify that so we can get into greater detail for them.

Thanks to tools here on C-D.com, I can point out that the state average income for Georgia $47k. The state average in Colorado is $56k. If the OP is doing a lateral transfer within Lowes, that could be putting ones self into a position of potentially earning less money while absorbing a higher cost of living, particularly if relocated to Denver. Having less disposable income could have the potential of severely impacting one's ability to have money, or time, to spend on additional recreational activities, which could have a big impact on dating activity.

Of course the opposite could be the case if the OP is transferring out of the Atlanta Metro area at a higher than average wage and moving into COS where they may be able to get housing equal to or at less cost than in Atlanta. In which case, the question still stands, what constitutes a "good" dating scene.
