Default How is this area of Colorado Springs?

I just moved to Colorado Springs and got in apartment in The Pines at Broadmoor. Is this area called Broadmoor Heights? If not, whats this area called?

It seems pretty nice here.. though my girlfriend is concerned about the number of military in the nearby shopping malls and stuff.

We're from Oceanside, CA where Camp Pendelton is. We know that Marines can get rowdy sometimes and my girlfiend is afraid of that.

Is this area different? How does this area rate overall? Any dirt on the area?

We're just of Farthing Dr, in the 80906 zip code.

Looking for any information you have available, good or bad. Thanks!

While there is a lot of military in Colorado Springs, as long as you stay away from the south side of town, you shouldn't have much of a problem. I lived there for 8 years (1995-1999 and 2001-2005) and I am military myself. There are 4 Air Force bases and 1 Army base. I am Air Force myself. Most of the problems deal with soldiers getting rowdy. I'm not trying to pick on the Army. But speaking from someone who has experienced going into a car dealership or furniture store and seeing the relief in the salesman's face when he learns that I am Air Force and not Army, I can say that the Army soldiers have a rougher time than the Air Force. However, even with this information, you really shouldn't notice many issues with the military.

Colorado, as you'll see, is a great place. We have considered settling down there eventually. The south end of town is a little rougher than most other areas but overall there really isn't anything to worry about except for being ready for any weather at any time.
