I have an old work friend who's willing to house sit and watch our cat while we are gone for about 10 days, what is a fair price for this? She won't really tell me what she wants or gets from other clients but I want to be fair to her. She'd be staying over night.

If no one responds, I would suggest searching for in-home pet (or house) sitters in Colorado Springs and check out their websites. Most post prices. I just saw one that was $50 for overnight pet sitting and another one for $55 a night.

This may not help since it's "family" : My sister-in-law house/pet sits for us occasionally. We give her $20/day and stock the fridge/pantry with some of her favorites.

These are definitely helpful, thanks! My in laws offered to pay for it (this was a condition for hubs to come on the trip too) and I sincerely hope it's not going to be $500. I don't think they planned for that. Thanks for your responses!

I have my niece house/pet sit for me and I typically give her about $20/day and stock the fridge/pantry as well. But I think the "going rate" for someone professional would be higher.

You could just get her a couple of nice gift cards to her favorite restaurants, stores, that kind of thing.
