No. I've never seen a gang member since I've lived here.

I was going to ask this question as well because an associate of mine said that there was a lot of gang activity in Colorado Springs, but I have never heard of anything myself...

We have a touch of them all. As far as where they live, they are more centralized in town and heaviest in the southern part of town (both and east and west). However, there are a few families that live as far north as briargate and monument. They are pretty good at hiding thier colors and the majority of them are pretty "quiet"--its those who are transplanting from CA who are more dangerous. The battle for power seems to be intensifying though (with the CA transplants).

Colorado Springs doesn't have a bad gang problem.I rarely hear about gangs in Colorado Springs.I mean there is some gangs, but that is to be expected.COS is a city of almost 400,000 people. But there isn't a huge gang problem in COS.

Gangs exist but in the early 90s the police chief and other set out hard to get them under control.
It's not a big problem here like it used to be but they exist like most any city over 100,000. |

Yeah? Why don't you try hanging out at the Citadel mall and open your eyes. The hispanic gangs like to hang out there, and if you want a personal experience, go to the Pikes Peak Park area after dark, just make sure you have about 5 guns on you. Those of you that "have never heard of gang activity" are living with blinders on. IT's there, and thriving in the southwest side. YOu just don't realize it, cause you probably never go there.

No one said they don't exist but the gang problem has been diminished from it's huge presence in the early 90s when both Denver and Colorado Springs had an alarming amount of violence due to gang activity. Yes, there are gangs specifically on the south east and toward the west but no one has blinders on about it. Most of us do keep up on the news and know where the pockets are. |

I had a nice run in with a gang member at the Citadel, cause "I was wearin his set colors" I almost had to throw down with like 5 of them, but my buddy saved my rear end.
