Due to all the growth in Colorado and the ridiculous cost of housing from Castle Rock to Ft Collins, the commuter traffic along that two lane stretch of I-25 has become a perpetual parking lot.

Since the early 60s, when that road was created, the population of Colorado has grown by a huge amount. We ought to at least add one lane each way. Adding two lanes would be even better.

How do we get this fixed?

The only way this happens in today's TABOR environment is with a public private partnership adding a toll lane. Thanks Douglas Bruce!!!

They are doing the exact thing north of Denver up to Ft Collins.

Pay to play is the USA way!

Contact your local representative and ask that they repeal TABOR. Until that is repealed, you aren't going to see lots of massive infrastructure improvements.

How about we give "established Colorado residents a transponder that waives the fee completely.
We didn't build the road with our tax dollar so the rest of the country could drive 10 mph below the speed limit in the left-hand lane and stop to gaulk at every fender bender.
This winter is going to be brutal!!!

I'd rather stick a fork in my eye than have to get on I25 again...especially these last 2 weeks. And yes, one of my trips was to Ft. Collins & it was just as bad & for both northbound & southbound.

Coming back from Denver last Saturday night we just took 83.

We almost always take 83 to COS from our home in the southeast Denver metro. It's relaxing.

Let's not let the 83 cat out of the bag so much, folks - it is a very small highway and could easily be overwhelmed with just a little more traffic.

Since this is an issue "of the people", and affects quality of life and business/economics, the government (who is to serve those interests) should get its act and @ss in gear. Hiding being legislation and/or making excuses can no longer be tolerated. Residents should turn up the volume on this issue, start asking lots of questions, and start applying heat as needed. We shouldn't be paying for ineptitude and dysfunction of those at the helm. And if it's a legislation issue, even that can be changed. Laws get changed and adjusted everyday.
