Please. Will you native Coloradans here in the Springs get over yourselves. This is not a major winter storm. There are snowstorms like this all over the country all winter long. We had much more frequent storms like this (and far worse) in the SOUTHERN state of Virginia than this storm here in Colorado Springs. In northern Virginia in a storm like this, with temperatures like this, the roads would be relatively cleared and most people would be going about their normal business. But you folks out here don't know how to clear snow, and because the roads are bad, you think it's a terrible storm. The northern half of this nation has storms like this frequently in the winter.

Who's complaining?

I know how to clear snow ... I just wait for the sun that comes out the next day to melt it all away. Voila - it's gone - much easier on my back.

I'm not complaining either. I'm from Albuquerque and not use to this yet but I did not think this was a big storm, just a nice 4 inches. We do live up on a big hill at the start of BF so it's tricky getting out sometimes but low and slow and we can do it. We don't get any plows or sand up here but it doesn't freak us out. Frankly, I'm more freaked out by the other drivers who go fast and then slam on their breaks and slide around. There are plenty of those around and I don't think those folks are all newbies.

When it's still 5 degrees outside, I'm in no hurry to clear snow. It'll be 41 deg by Monday.

I've still got a blizzard chicken or two in the freezer.

Netflix has an unlimited number of movies to keep me entertained.

I was out for the Christmas Bird Count today hiking 6 miles tracking birds - with full winter gear on despite 0 degrees it wasn't that cold but the blowing snow kept freezing up my camera and binoculars. Roads were pretty difficult going though. No idea what's up with telling natives to get over themselves. Obviously different cities have different infrastructure to handle storms and ours isn't great. But we certainly have Atlanta or Phoenix beat.

I haven't seen anyone complaining, I and other "natives" I know are happy to finally have some snow even if it's not much. There is nothing more invigorating than that crisp dry winter air. Also there were no lines at post office downtown this morning when I went to mail some custom orders and no wait when we went for bagels after

You should see Arizona news report about a 1/2 inch of rain like it's a hurricane.

I'm talking about the roads, not your sidewalk.

I was talking about an interview they did this morning with someone from public works who was making a big deal out of "this challenging storm" and that "we'll try to keep up", yada, yada.

40% of the people here are not from here. In City and County government, that percentage may be even higher since they insist on hiring at a national level for "competitive reasons."
