Curious, how much land do you get with these houses described on this thread? I've looked at realtor.com and was surprised to see some homes that sit on as little as .16 of an acre. Are there any 1 to 2 acre home sites?

Maybe Flying Horse, for sure Black Forest. They are right next to Briargate but not Briargate. I think they are D20 schools and I think Flying Horse is Colorado Springs, not sure. My gut feeling is that there aren't 1+ acre lots in Briargate or very few. For lots that big you sort have to go out of the master planned communities. I think there might be maps on the El Paso County website which show zoning, like :grazing land, homes 1-2.5 acres, 2.5-5 acres, commercial, retail, industrial, etc.

There is a pocket of older homes in the Briargate area that have some land around them, i.e., the vicinity of Hwy 83 and Old Ranch Road, just a mile north of Briargate Pkwy / Exit 151 of I-25. From the looks of them, I'd say these homes go back to the 1960's. Trick is to find one that is for sale. I'm not aware of any NEW construction in this area with that sort of land, with the possible exception of some $1M+ custom homes in Pine Creek, off Promontory / Chapel Hills DR.

I really like this area. Large treed lots and still close to everything. Another area with large lots is Falcon Estates, located behind Sam's Club and the commercial strip that includes Fat Burger. We looked there, but there was very little for sale in '04.
