I hope the Springs SURPASSES Denver and Denver will be our northern suburb while all the important economic activity and wealth will be concentrated in the Springs.

I agree. As others have pointed out, there have been some concerted efforts by groups to specifically prevent this with huge open space trusts being established. There are still some multi-generational farms and the like along 83 that are resisting progress and may be able to do so for another generation.

I can't see it become one huge megaopolis. We collectively seemed too opposed to mass transit to create a huge urban corridor here for at least another 20 years, and even then, if we have rolled tabor into the grave, we will never be able to fund it. While it may be a somewhat contiguous swath of humanity like the area between Denver and Ft Collins, I can't see it being an endless urban landscape.

Yeah, that ship sailed long ago. The fundamentals aren't there to make COS a legitimate contender as the center of gravity of the Front Range.

Spot on. Maybe in a hundred years but to get there the TABOR has to go away and people have to grow up and be willing to pay for all the trappings of a major metropolis. Water will limit growth unless solution are found.
