Im breaking my back now here for nothing, at least if I had to do the same in the Springs I would be doing so in a better environment and among more like-minded people. Thanks again for both your comments. Looking to be in the Springs no later than late spring.

My husband & I are from NJ too and looking to go to CO. I've told him the same thing. "Let's just go." NJ is too expensive. We are selling our house to start over. So I say what's the difference if we "start over" in NJ or another state!

Closing costs.
Moving costs.

In what way? Politcally? Religiously? Or what? COS has a reputation, maybe a little overblown (but not much) of being very conservative and very evangelical Christian. I have a relative down there who is a builder, he is frequently asked if he is a Christian. He and his wife often have clients praying over their housing matters. None of this is bad, but it may not be for you.

I've heard the religious thing over and over. I've been here about 6 months and haven't been asked that yet. No one has ever referred to it or even made the slightest hint at it.

And I've lived here for about 13 years, and I've never been asked about my religious beliefs or whether or not I attend church. I think the whole (non-)issue is massively overblown.

I'm moving from the Florida Panhandle. Down here, "What church do y'all go to?" is a frequent question from the 'natives'...transplants don't seem to care. From afar, metropolitan Colorado seems rather secular. I've been in the Corners region and found religion to come up in casual conversation.

Yowza...a national listing today ranked CS as the third 'most drunken city' in the nation and Dever came in as #1.

I think Denver was voted 'drunkest' last year, and why not, if water's in such short supply then let's get brewski's and get hydrated.

Perhaps we should convene a quorum at Jack Quinn's and sort it out over corned beef & cabbage - and a few pints of Guinness.
