This is for El Paso Co total:

Ages 18-34 there are 92,500 men

And 79,800 women.

That's a LOT of single men.

El Paso County is the most populous in the state. We are at an estimated 674k plus. The difference above equates to 1.8% of the population. Not a particularly significant number, nor particularly noticeable, IMO.

Military bases employ approximately 20% of the workforce here, both active duty and civilian contractors. So while that percentage is greater than a lot of other municipalities, it is not as big as many think. Yes, there are a percentage that spend a majority of their time on base, especially at The Academy where academics are a priority and partying is not.

It does occasionally lead to some localized night time violence at area night clubs, especially when we see mass returns from a deployment. I suppose it could be a problem if you are a dude moving here looking for easy weekend hook ups with multiple women.

Some of the personnel are women and some are married, both factors work to reduce the numbers of single men in the demographic data.
