The only downfall to me not having grass is that there's nowhere for dog poop to hide now. LMAO!! That's one thing i'm going to miss from Ohio. The house I own here has a monsterous back yard, close to an acre. The house is 1700 sq ft, and I paid $68,000 for it! The cost of living is really low here, but that's because the wages are too. I'm not going to miss mowing that big yard though. Even with my tractor I kinda hated it.

I'll have to agree with Charles. This is my second season here about 25 miles north of The Springs so I'm still learning after never having to take care of a lawn/garden other than writing a check to a landscaper.

I didn't aerate or power rake last year (first season here), but I think I might do that this year. My lawn is very thick and looks like it needs it bad. But it looked this way last year and it turned out to be an extremely nice lawn.

I think it was the middle of April when I fertalized the lawn with Scott's Weed and Feed and just watered it from then on out, then winterized it at the begining of November after my last mow.

This season is so warm, I'm itching to get started on it and I think I'll turn my sprinklers back on this week. The Previous owner let the field go and had lots of weeds so I had the local fire department burn it last November and it's turning green right now.

Farmer's Almanac is predicting a stormy Spring and a hot summer so hopefully the grass will go to town this spring and if I keep watering it every day, it should stay all good.

This is a picture of 2/3's of my lawn from the end of August last year, the rest of the green is just natural stuff.

I guess it's getting time to sharpen the blades on the mower...

The person who posted the link to TurfDirect....have you actually used it? The idea is kind of appealing to me....really starting to hate mowing and we have a HUUUUUUGE back yard. I'm ready to get the whole thing landscaped. Just need to win the lottery I guess. Not like I have $10K handy...but would like to know more about this TurfDirect stuff.

Thanks Millsy!

I'm actually in Larkspur, barely, right up against the north side of Monument Hill, but consider myself "Colorado Springs" since none of my friends/family know where Larkspur is and I do most of my shopping and stuff down in the Springs.
