If you want to see a lot more weather stations, go to Weather Underground. Yes, they are not all official and not all track rain but many do - you'll probably find one closer to you. Maybe you should move to a different neighborhood if this bothers you so much! We have lots of mushrooms too - very unusual for my yard - my parents have even more. I hiked the Crags Saturday and there were thousands of them!

I did use weather Underground! Where are you guys finding all these other weather stations? I scoured the website for several hours and only found data based on these 3 stations! Does anyone have a link?

I go here: https://www.wunderground.com/us/co/colorado-springs Then under Colorado Springs,CO top right it tells the name of the station you're at - Wookie's Den in my case. Two links over is a drop down menu that brings up many, many other stations - it says "Change Station". When you click on that it creates a list of nearby stations and puts them on a map and you can scroll/drag around and zoom in or out on the map to find one you want. When you find one you want, double click on the little temperature icon to be taken to that station's page.

THANK YOU for this! I knew this had to exist, but I never could find how to change the weather station to display this data until now. Thanks to you, I have concrete proof about our lack of rain here, and it LITERALLY is in the neighborhood! I clicked on random weather stations for the last 30 minutes (in different zip codes) and made a list of which ones got the most rain in July, and which ones got the least. Here are the results, most to least. I might add more stations later and start a data thread.

Total rainfall for July of 2017

Weather Station zip code & Name
80916 Barnstormers: 9.29" (this is near the airport)
80922 Ridgeview: 7.58"
80903 Old North End: 7.05" (downtown)
80907 Nancy Lewis Park: 6.75"
80917 StagnerVille: 6.7"
80908 Park Forest Estates: 6.52" (Black forest)
80817 Cross Creek: 6.33" (Fountain)
80906 Parkview and Cresta: 6.27"
80910 Pikes Peak Park: 6.05"
80911 Dan's Security WX: 5.32" (Security-Widefield)
80909 Citadel Crossing: 4.71"
80920 North of Briargate (Pine Creek): 4.41"
80919: Pinion Valley: 4.40" (centennial blvd)
80918 Vista Grande: 3.97" (this is in my zipcode, but further away)
80921 Flying Horse: 3.7"
80918 Cottonwood Creek and Union: 2.38" (this is the closest station to me)

I guess I picked the absolute worst neighborhood to live in (for someone who likes severe weather). Believe me, I would like to move to another neighborhood when we get the funds!

Small nit to pick, but Pikes Peak and Cascade, the center of downtown at 80903, is a mile and a half south of the southern most part of the Old North End, 80907, which is another two and a half miles long end to end. A difference not unlike Vista Grande to Cottonwood Creek.

My mistake. Oddly enough, there really aren't many weather stations in the Downtown area. I did find one at the Fine Arts center in 80903 (in fact, this is truly the only station in this zip code that I could find) . It reported 6.38" in July.

Funny enough, this just further demonstrates how much my neighborhood breaks up these storms. When you look at multiple weather stations in the same zip codes (or short distances) there is usually only a minor difference in precipitation amounts - but in my zip code, the differences are all over the place. Another weather station further south of me in my same zip code shows 4.52" of rain in July. This one is about another half-mile down the road from Vista Grande. This station is titled "Vista Grande West". Note that neither of these are related to Vista Grande Church, in case anyone is wondering (at least I don't think they are). The updated list looks like this (I also fixed the zip code of the Old North End):

Total rainfall for July of 2017

Weather Station zip code & Name
80916 Barnstormers: 9.29" (this is near the airport)
80922 Ridgeview: 7.58"

80917 StagnerVille: 6.7"
80908 Park Forest Estates: 6.52" (Black forest)
80903 Fine Arts Center: 6.38" (Downtown, West Side)
80817 Cross Creek: 6.33" (Fountain)
80906 Parkview and Cresta: 6.27"
80910 Pikes Peak Park: 6.05"
80911 Dan's Security WX: 5.32" (Security-Widefield)
80909 Citadel Crossing: 4.71"
80918 Vista Grande West 4.52" (this is the furthest station from me in my zip code)
80920 North of Briargate (Pine Creek): 4.41"
80919: Pinion Valley: 4.40" (centennial blvd)
80918 Vista Grande: 3.97" (also my zip code, but still not the closest station)
80921 Flying Horse: 3.7"
80918 Cottonwood Creek and Union: 2.38" (this is the closest station to me)

Hi all,

I have a professional weather station in my yard located in Northeast Colorado Springs. I send data to numerous organizations including the NWS. I have built a website for the station so that the data can be seen Live. I also have a live Hikvision IP camera facing WSW. My site is cospringsweather.com. The zip code of my station is 80923.
