Hi! Well I recently made the decision to move to Colorado, The Springs to be exact. The city isn't set in stone yet, but, it seemed to be more affordable than Denver. I don't mind paying 900-1000 for a one bedroom, but I didn't seem to find any in Denver. Does anyone mind helping me with my questions. I'm really nervous to do this move as I will be alone, I know the ethnic population is low etc. Are there cities similar to Colorado Springs I should check out? Areas I should stay away from? How are the race relations? Are there cities with lower crime than others? If so, which ones. I dont mind a large town or city feel, but not as much a tourist attraction as Denver. What little things should I know that I won't find on the internet? What job fields are popular? Are people friendly and generally trustworthy? Are the doctors generally good? I have medical issues and as such would need to find specialists. Any help, steps to find more info, or contribution would be so greatly appreciated!!

COLO SPGS has a large military population that brings its share of multi-cultural people into the population.

It has just about all medical specialties in town along with four major hospitals and only 90 minutes to Denver if needed for anything really rare.

If you're ethnicity leans Hispanic then Pueblo may be a good fit and a bit more affordable.

Race relations are quite different here than the south - everything is generally more integrated - you typically do not find ethnic neighborhoods, etc., but just people all mixed together although some neighborhoods are more mixed than others. Colorado Springs does have a lot of tourism - this time of year that's mostly true for all of the Front Range cities and mountain cities, etc. People are generally trustworthy and live and let live.
