When we lived in Divide up in Teller County, we got a lot of mail ~~ realtors wanting to sell our home, Neptune Society, churches inviting us to their Sunday services, tickets reserved for us at retirement Investment seminar dinners, AARP, Medicare insurance brokers, Gerber and other life insurance companies, lots of junk mail ~~ all addressed to Mr. & Mrs. Family KSCA, with letters inside saying Dear Mr. & Mrs. KSCA..... We had our home in a trust called the KSCA Family Revoc Liv Trust, so I knew immediately that it was coming from people combing through the online Assessor's office records, and that everyone was probably getting this junk. Right to the shredder...

When we moved to AZ, we set up another trust (kids -- whose initials we'd used for the CO trust ~~ were empty nested) using two words, Native Saguaro and we began getting mail addressed to Mr. & Mrs. Saguaro Native from the same outfits as in CO. In the letters, same as in CO: Dear Mr. & Mrs. Saguaro.....We changed the name of the trust and within six months, the same mail, with the new name, started arriving.

Names are retrieved from the County Assessor's office lists which are public, then people like AARP sell their lists and realtors and direct mail companies and others buy them, so the names of people get out there really quickly.

Since we've recently moved to the Springs and did a change of address online at usps.com we've received a lot of fliers from home alarm companies, window covering companies, various service companies (carpet cleaning, insurance, etc), but nothing from any religious organizations. I'm sure those will come at some point but nothing yet.

It's alright OP, don't cry. Just like anything else you have no interest in just throw it away, no biggie.

I'm in NC now for a spell, but lived in the Springs for a number of years. Love, and miss Manitou Springs. Enjoyed exploring all the funky neighborhoods, and doing the incline 2 1/2 times ;oD. One of my favorite places. Hope they have recovered from those wretched floods. And the fires too for the rest of the area. Was horrified just watching it all unfold.
