Are you thinking about "Norad" and their move to the AF base???
The "Head" of Norad is a Navy Admiral.
My son ( who is in the Navy...a Cryptologist..is thinking of the same move.)
Any ole hoot,..I would suggest you position yourself in between all places....ie/ COS...Pueblo/ Canon City..Penrose.

IF you will be closer to Denver then,...maybe you should consider Monument or Castle Rock. It all depends.

If you are looking in USAJobs.gov and you find no jobs, then there are no advertised openings. The base is called Cheyenne Mountain AFS. That may help narrow the searching.

What type of work are you looking for?

Government civilian jobs take a loooong time to go through the hiring process. If you aren't selected for interview you'll never hear from anyone. That's just how it works. For those type of jobs he should look into contractor jobs also. Some of that work will be contracted out.

Thank Postal for all your advice. I agree, it does take along time.. I was just talking to a personel worker at the base out here, and it took her four years to get transfered.....We will keep trying though.....Thanks again..

I applied for several jobs over a year ago and a few of them are still in the hiring process. I just gave up on the GS route.

I think the real trick is to get a contractor job and keep working the GS system. Then you are at least employed while working the civil service system.
