Motorcycles are a road hazard, period. They acknowledge this with their "look twice save a life" motto. The only reason they are on the road is they were grandfathered in. This is evident because we don't allow atv's on our roads. But they weren't around way back in the day. So motorcycles are abundant on our roads and completely unsafe to automobile traffic.

Plus the whole attitude. It's just disgusting.
But that Thumpin' Harley is such a Manly Machine.

Totally agree. Riding a motorcycle is a poor decision. It’s not if, it’s when will you crash and burn.

This absolutely makes no sense. How is a motorcycle a road hazard to others? Maybe a hazard to ourselves from retarded drivers who dont pay attention and constantly on the phones. Ive never had any issues with motorcycle out of the 20 years ive been driving, and never been in a wreck.

lol ATVs vs Motorcycles are very different. By far I will never hit 40+ on an ATV on the road because it does not feel safe; it is meant for offroad use and you can definitely tell the handling is much different vs a bike on the road; and yes, I own both.

And what does this have to do with the topic? Maybe you dont realize it but the millions of people on their phones, eating while driving, talking while driving are more of a hazard. Reason most motorcycles get to wrecks is because retards who make a left on them on intersections.

A poor decision? Probably our decision. I dual sport ride, so I can hit trails and see the scenery. I dont speed, my bike is not loud at all and its a poor choice because people are too idiotic when they drive. If people actually were not distracted while driving, actually looked, did not tail gate, cycles would be in danger.

in contrary, it will be a matter of time before those distracted driver who are on their cellphones and/or tailgating before they wreck in an intersection and probably end up dying or being paralyzed. Insurance will shoot through the roof too.

its amazing how many accidents I avoided just by being super alert

Well, I live right along Austin Bluffs. Yes, I hear an undertone of noise from cars and trucks. That's life. But it's the idiot motorcyclists gunning it after pulling away from two stoplights than is deafening...and unnecessary.

The other issues...problems too...but that wasn't my point.

I wonder if you aren't hearing those cars that have the noisy-on-purpose mufflers - they can sound a lot like motorcycles and I think there are a lot of them.

I've heard those referred to as Fart Can exhausts.

Some motorcyclists run straight pipes, no muffling, thinking that "loud pipes save lives" as the high noise level gets heard by those who might not otherwise hear them due to loud music in their vehicle, etc. I keep my windows up just about all the time and the loud pipes are only a minor and temporary distraction.

I find myself getting tailgated every single damn day. Even adjusting my time to depart to/from work I still run into the moron who is either late or just enjoys riding people's bumpers. I don't understand it at all

I don't find motorcyclist to be any more of a road hazard than the weaving in and out of traffic Subaru WRX drivers, or Texan tourists, or meandering RV drivers, texting millenials, stoned out of their gourd visitor, throng of Olympic bicyclists, etc.....

Its just a part of being a driver in Cos.

Now, motorcycles with straight pipes deciding to drag race between lights on Nevada Ave at 2am Saturday and Sunday mornings, that I find annoying.
