Was sitting out enjoying the great evening tonight and noticed a LOT of Miller's flying around my lilacs- have not seen that for a few years!

The last really bad year was the aweful dry summer of the Waldo fire.

Last year we had the late May freeze that may have helped.

Will this year be when we get back to normal? I hate those moths and the red poop spots they leave on walls and windows- at least cats get some enjoyment out of them (!)

I just started noticing them as well, BUT I also see the birds which eat them too. That one really bad summer the moths came weeks before the birds.

After that one night where I saw a lot of Miller's on my plants at dusk I have seen very few since.

Maybe we dodged the invasion again this year!

I have been seeing quite a few, but nothing like the invasion years.

My key signs for a 'bad' invasion year is when the swallows cover the street light lines at intersections and are diving down on the road when the light is red to catch all the moths, or that when I open my mailbox every time at least a few miller moths come out of it along with my mail, and three, that they keep finding their way inside my house so that there are always at least a few inside it.

None of these has happened this year. I did have one moth in my mail box so far but that's it.

Same here - I think I've seen about 2 of them here on the west side. (knock wood).
