Water
How's the water in COS? I wondered this last night as I drank my Reverse Osmosis water. I have not dared drink tap water unprocessed in Arizona for years and years now, as it all tastes terrible and sometimes smells terrible, too. It's a wonder we don't all stink after showering here!
Is using RO water or installing water filtering systems common in COS as well, or is there more use of tap water there?

Can't speak for COS, but being just north of COS, we're on a well. Our neighbors are at 300 feet and has perfect tasting water, but we're at just over 1000 feet down on our well and we had to get an iron removal system put in. The water smelled mettalic and turned anything white to orange - white clothes, toilet bowls, showers, etc.
There's 3 aquifiers where I'm at, depending on how far down you go I guess and I'm in the deepest one and the neighbor is in the shallowest one (still haven't got the names of them down yet). But again, probably doesn't help you much for COS.

I am from Southern CA where we had to buy bottled water. When I first moved here I started to do the same but then my in-laws kept telling me it was ok to drink the tap water here. And they're right. It's terrific! And free, with no equipment to attach to your faucet!
My sister and her boyfriend came to visit and they say the same thing....the water is awesome! (And so is Papa Murphy's delite pizza)

Yep. My first time in Colorado Springs, I was shocked how good the water tasted. The water coming out of the hotel faucet was as good as any bottled water I've had. Denver and Aurora's water is good too. Its also very soft compared to the water we get in SoCal.

I thought DWP water tasted great. Straight from the runoff from chair 16 at Mammoth down the hills to the aqueduct up and down siphons and pumping plants, down the Cascades in the Newhall pass and out to our taps.
The worst tasting water ever? Santa Barbara. Point Mugu is second worst.

Well my water in Orange County tastes pretty bad. I'm not sure where it comes from but I think its partially from local wells.

The water quality in Colorado Springs is great. I have visited grandparents there and the water has a fresh smell and I love drinking the tap water. Better than bottled water in my opinion.
It is certainly better than water in a number of small towns in the Upper Midwest where the water is not as horrible as other places but is hard water (it may be OK to bathe, cook, and wash clothes but does not taste the best). Water in my town in South Dakota is hard and I often buy bottled water for drinking.
Those who live in Colorado Springs should be happy to have great water quality, when compared to many other areas of the United States.

Whee!
That was exactly the answer I was hoping for! No more lugging gallon water bottles all over the house from the RO store!
YAY!
