wonder if you guys have tips on planting green bell peppers in COS. Warmer than most cities, so it should be an issue, but heard its good to keep it on a deck on sunlight in a pot; but what about the hail? has it ruined your peppers? advice for colorado springs growers

I try to buy pepper and tomato plants already started and as large as I can find. That way they are producing much earlier than those grown from seed. I've already had a few peppers and I've been getting tomatoes daily since July. All my plants are in tubs on the south side of my house below the porch, so they get all day sunlight. I have very large eaves so they are protected from direct rain and hail, but I also can tarp the entire garden from my porch rail to the ground in minutes. If its really brutal, I can move the tubs up to the porch.
