At 6 AM there was 7 inches of wet, heavy snow in the City of Cripple Creek, CO. At 8 AM it is only 21 degrees so the snow won't be melting anytime soon

The sun is coming out. That will have as big or bigger an impact on the snow melting as the the air temp. Plus, tomorrow will be in the 40s. That snow isn't sticking around for long.

We need much more and hopefully this winter it will get back to normal!

The newbies that have just moved here because they heard it "never snows anymore" need a huge wake up call-

Let it snow!

Do you really think anyone moved to Colorado to avoid snow? Lol.

One of the things I like about Colorado is the mild winters.

I sure have LOL

Have spoken to a few peeps on my travels up north on I-25 (to my hometown)- they were recent arrivals and were telling friends who live in warmer climates (and hate snow) to move here.

"It never snows anymore!"

It's probably the fact that many of us stress our easy, mild winters to people coming to the forum for that kind of info before moving here. Maybe we should start tempering those statements somewhat, to say that "we don't really know for certain" what kind of winters we'll have.

I can say for certain that winters here do not require the hibernation mode I experienced when I live through the winters up in Grand County.
