Some people aren't even born normal. I hope others won't blame them for how they were born. Some were rejected by their families, have no friends or support system. They may believe every bad thing they are told about themselves. People with money want nothing to do with those less fortunate.

I was born with a physical condition that causes anxiety and depression, that causes me problems with concentration and memory. What employer would want me? I have suffered like this for 67 years.
"What employer would want me?"

That defeatist attitude doesn't help. Many of them don't necessarily want to live outside, but they tolerate it. Working and having commitments are worse than braving the cold. I believe that many are so short sighted, they can't envision working long and hard for an eventual payoff. I tried to employ many of them, but they want day pay, and most often only worked long enough to get a room for that night, or food, alcohol, or whatever. I couldn't get them to come everyday, but sometimes they would come back every few days or once every couple of weeks.

We all have our challenges, myself included. Recognize your strengths, your weaknesses, and be realistic in your expectations.

Not everyone was meant to live in a 10,000 sqft house, but some are. Not everyone was meant to be homeless, but some are. I can tolerate work and responsibilities better than them, and they can tolerate the environment better than I can. We all have different limitations.

Third, they make themselves the pariahs.

I suggest you take a few into your own home.

You suggest you are against racism, but isn't classism similar?

Who would think that camping would ever have been allowed on library grounds?

"The Pikes Peak Library District plans to ban camping around its buildings as more and more homeless people have been sleeping outside the Penrose Library downtown, leaving trash and human waste in their wake.

Beginning Monday, anyone caught from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. at one of the library district’s four campuses — the Penrose, East and Old Colorado City libraries or Library 21c — could be ticketed for trespassing, said John Spears, the district’s CEO and chief librarian.

The move comes as the number of campers outside the Penrose Library has skyrocketed in recent months, making it the latest flash point in the city’s struggle to address homelessness.

So you think seeing the homeless is worse than being homeless?

[quote=colobill;54092814]Doesn't anyone find it interesting that the more aid provided, the more needy people show up? Why is feeding people alright, but feeding wildlife is bad because the animals become dependant?[/QUOTE)

You have my permission to wander into some woods and spend thousands feeding animals, but please don't feed any people as they are such an annoyance.

If I understand you correctly, you want hard working people to contribute more of their hard earned dollars so people who choose not to work, can do so more comfortably?

I think you missed the point! If you feed animals, they will stop working (hunting and foraging for food). It messes up the balance of nature. Some humans will do the same.

What a disgusting problem. What's wrong with us?

Really. I suggest you get your car (or get on your bicycle) and start driving around Colorado Springs. I see tens of thousands of homes, townhomes, and apartments being lived in.
