Question Summer programs in the Rockrimmon area?

Does anybody have information on summer programs for kids 10-11 in the Rockrimmon area? We will find out within the next couple of weeks whether or not we will be relocating to the CSprings area. If so, we will need to get something set up for my son ASAP.

Hey Mike From Back East, it's Lisa from MN. If you're out here lurking I just wanted you to know we're still working on getting there! Thanks for all your help so far. Looking forward to seeing you soon!

District 20 just released the summer school catalog in the Friday folders. Go to the D20 website, click on Summer School & Enrichment, then Summer School. It lists the course descriptions, times, etc. There are 4 week sessions, 2 week sessions and 1 week sessions, each with a different price tag. If you end up moving into D20, you would get the D20 resident price for the classes. They group the kids together by age, i.e. "entering 4th and 5th graders", etc. I didn't think the prices were too bad, actually. Most of the 4 week classes were $150, and this is 830-1130 am, Mon-Thurs, for 4 weeks.

Are you looking for a full-day summer program? Anyway, here are the options that I'm aware of in the Rockrimmon area (or close to the area):

Adventure Clubs (Chipeta program is close to Rockrimmon) - Adventure Clubs Creative Play Centers

ArtSports - ArtSports World - Trampoline and Tumbling Gymnastics in Colorado Springs (they may not have their summer camp info on their website yet, but I think it is about $30 a day) - this may be your best bet for older kids

Hope Montessori - Home - but these are really for younger kids, 6 to 8?

Children's Depot - Childrens Depot, Childcare, PreSchool, Colorado Springs | Summer Camp - wouldn't be my preference, but including it here FYI

Kindercare - KinderCare Learning Centers. 6610 Flying W Ranch Rd Colorado Springs, CO 80919 (719) 536-0370 - wouldn't be my preference, but including it here FYI

If you tell me what's areas are on your way (where are you driving to when you drop them off), I may be able to share more options with you. Good luck!

The YMCA also has a summer camp program. Go to Welcome to the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region - Colorado Springs, CO
They have a Y-Explorer program for 8 - 12 year olds. You do not have to be member of the YMCA (you pay a little more than members). We had our 3 kids do their summer program last year when we were visiting Colorado Springs before our move in October. They have several camps which take the kids to explore and visit the area. My kids loved it
