Default 80919

In 80919, this is the school your kids would go to most likely: NEW - Parent Corner Link! Use for accessing the D-11 Dept. of Instruction Page It is a great school and great, beautiful neighborhood. The district is Colorado Springs School District 11. It has some good schools and neighborhoods, as well as some more struggling areas depending on location. You can download boundary maps here Enrollment & Boundaries, and if you narrow down your scope I could tell you more about specific areas. Starting teacher salary is around 30-33,000. In the district you're looking at, you can transfer up to 14 years of prior service. The salary schedule caps in the mid to upper 60's with two masters or PhD and 24+ years. Substitute pay is low - I think about $80/day. You can track job postings for that district here Colorado Springs School District 11 (broken link) You are also going to be close to school district 20 (Academy school district) which has good schools as well.

I thought 80919 was Rockrimmon area, which is District 20. You can find pay info and scales for D-20 at their website, Academy School Dist. 20 - Welcome

We live in 80918, north of Dublin, and that is also District 20. Across the street from us the kids would go to District 11. I think Dublin is the dividing street.

Appreciate all your comments about the schools, teachers pay etc. Moving from Hawaii to CS is a big change for our ohana (family). We are looking to rent at a townhouse/condo closer to elementary school, preferrably 80918/80919 for my ages 5 and 7. A little upscale area, pls just as long as its in the zip codes mentioned above.

Thanks!

The only experience I have in the area is the Wilson Ranch Pool, a Colorado Springs park. It is very neat but very crowded in summer. Seems like a nice neighborhood.

We live in 80919. Elementary schools in this area are (these are all excellent schools):
D20: Rockrimmon, Foothills, Woodmen-Roberts (Academy School Dist. 20 - Welcome)
D11: Trailblazer, Chipeta (COLORADO SPRINGS SCHOOL DISTRICT #11)

D20 is North of Vindicator, D11 is South of Vindicator (off Centennial and Flying W). For elementary, all the schools in 80919 are excellent. My preference for middle school and high school are on the D20 side though.

Let me know if you have any questions!

I have lived in 80919 for my whole life until about 8 months ago when I moved to Arizona. It is a very nice area. I attended Foothills Elementary School, and it was a great school. The teachers really care about the kids and their futures. Good luck with the move!!
