Interested in quality of life in Colorado Springs.
My husband and I are looking into a military posting in Colorado Springs amongst other places.
We like to walk our dogs, ride our mountain bikes and motorbikes, have a healthy amount to spend on a house and are fairly liberal, open-minded non-judgemental people in our late 30s with no children (the dogs are our kids).
We love scenery, not too bothered by shops etc but a few nice good quality restaurants and bars would be a plus.
My question is will we like living in Colorado Springs?

I'm not "liberal" in the classic sense but am pretty open-minded (so I like to think)...I think given your post, you will like it here.
We are a huge military town and given that, we are by nature here pretty conservative. That said, I have had the honor to know a lot of military that aren't conservative here. I miss my friends who used to live across the street from me. In fact, it was because of them I have my Jake (black lab sort of dog).

It does seem quite perfect for us in many ways. Mostly weather wise, it seems a great balance.
Are the seasons well-defined? Is it very dog-friendly?
My husband is looking into the posting seriously this week at work to see if he will like the military academy and training 'young-uns' as a job!!!!

It's not "California Perfect" weather. It is "weather lovers" weather with mostly cheerful sunny weather with occasional interesting snow storms and thunderstorms. It has been windy lately, but I've read this is normal for spring.
Defined seasons? I've heard the seasons described as: It's either almost summer or almost winter. You can do outdoor things most days in winter as long as it isn't windy.

Hehe, Colorado Springs was voted as one of the most "dog friendly" cities in Men's Health I believe.
anyhow, you are almost weird if you don't have a dog here. I have both a dog and a cat. I met up with some ladies (accidentally) when I went to Palmer Park in March. My dog took a dump right in the parking lot and the ladies who were going east to walk/hike (I was going west) pointed me to the box of plastic bags so I could clean up his doodoo.
My post about that day is somewhere around here. coflower - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting (hope the link works) click on the "walk" videos and I have photos from that outing too if you are interested.

Very dog friendly with doggie parks. Weather has its distinct seasons, sometimes all in one day! GRIN!! Don't worry, the snow is bound to melt tomorrow keeping you in doors for maybe one day at a time. Welcome, welcome! You are going to love it!

I'm biased, as I'm an Academy Grad, but I'm sure he'll find a remarkable collection of dedicated, impressive young men and women. There's a lot more to the Academy than taining young-uns.
With your criteria above.....parks, dog-friendly, some fine dining, etc., you won't like it here. You'll love it more than anywhere you've been assigned.
