Being from Ohio myself, surely you have heard of Ziebart. Have your car Ziebarted and salt doesn't affect it. It's great stuff and I used to swear by it when I lived there.

The Magnesium Chloride is junk IMHO. Sure, it helps roads to "resist" icing. But in the meantime, before the snow and ice comes, it makes the roads more slippery for 24 hours prior to the storm.

I can understand the frustration. Here in IL we have the toll roads which are horrendous. Then once you cross into Wisconsin (on the same road), the tolls go away and the roads are instantly better.

Luckily, you have the scenery where us flattlanders get excited for a garbage mound because it's about 1/4 the size of the foothills.
