Being new to the area and having exhausted all my coworkers leads. does anyone have a good, and trusted mechanic that they can recommend. I need a new exhaust manifold. I know that mechanics can jack up the price on a repair like this with out having to prove their work (due to the possible increase in labor).
Please help. I don't want to take it to a random garage and 'hope for the best' Thanks |

If you happen to have a Honda (or other Japanese car), I recommend "Independent" off Academy behind the Chevy dealership.
It's a bit too far for me to go to but I have been going to the Firestone on Hartsel (Woodmen and Rangewood) since I moved back and they are good. I am not a a wuss when it comes to cars (helped start the local SCCA franchise with my mad secretary skills) so I do have something to know, er whatever. But the Firestone guys/gals (are there any gals there?) are really good there. They showed me my CV boots (customers are not welcome in the shop) and oh gods, they are bad. I knew it but I had so many opinions as to what was wrong with my car (Hello, I am not a newbie with Hondas) that I just took it in there to have them tell me what I already know. But over all, they are really good. |

Also, check with Ryan here...I can't remember his screen name but I think he's a mechanic and he might be able to help you out.

Yes, that's me, lol. I Work at Saturn Chapel Hills. We will work on all makes and models, however, our labor rate may be a bit too high for you, at About $100 an hour.
IF you're interested, send me a PM, I'll try my best to give you a quote. Just give me the year, make, model, and engine size, and the type of job you want done. |
