BTW, C Springs isn't all about being Christian here. Many people I know are atheist, pagan, Wiccan or simiply don't care.

YIKES!!

P.S. I'm an ex-atheist Christian. I'd take CS over SF and Oakland, or Berkeley any day! Trust me, you would, too!

Haha. If most people the poster knows are atheist and pagan in Colorado Springs, then she's definitely living in one super-shady bubble. lol. Because the springs is a very conservative town with a pretty intense religious influence. It's a great town--it just happens to have a pretty serious "church culture" that turns some people off. I grew up in Denver and knew a handful of atheists/non-Christians....but the VAST majority of people I knew were believers. I'm pretty sure the same thing holds for C. Springs.

PS. I'm with you--San Francisco is FREAKY. Colorado Springs is infinitely preferable to most of the Bay Area.

I still don't see the religious thing. I go to church, but I'm not one of the Bible beating street-corner evangelists. I haven't heard a peep out of FotF since I've been here (9 months). Even at church the people don't come off as the "holier than though" types. Maybe the people who complain about that think of events like gay pride parades as normal but anything that even hints at Christianity in the slightest is far right-wing?

To the O/P. Go with Denver. Colorado Springs may be big but its still sleepytown. They're trying to build more things to do on the east side but Denver being the bigger city has way more variety, shopping, restaurants, and places to hang out and meet people. I think it will be more to your liking if you're single. Matter fact, Denver was voted as one of the best places for singles a few years ago. Colorado Springs is more of a place for families and retirees

I've only known one person who couldn't wait to move out of Springs because we were too "conservative". Then again, he was a singer and missed smoking weed with other intellectuals, as he said. So, he moved back to Seattle. Whatever floats your boat I guess...

Ohhh, thanks for the laugh. I'm sure this is what they actually think, but it's just funny to me.

Default good insights...

When you say single, are you talking about those who get out and hit the party scene all night? Or how about somebody who has been there done that, and may be looking to meet people casually, go hiking, the such...Would Denver still be better for me?

As for the religious thing, I grew up in NE Indiana, where EVERYBODY goes to church, and if they don't you were like...Why? So I don't think that would bother me. I leave alone as long as they do. And those who don't...well, they better know something about real history! I sometimes think Key West is too liberal, like "lets just be a total bozo" as opposed to believing in what you do.

If you believe in something earnestly, you don't stick it in everyone's face, I think you could get along everywhere, don't you think that is a safe assumption for COS as well? Just asking your opinions?
