Jackson Creek Community????
Hi! We lived in the Springs for 9 years before moving back to my hometown in Arizona. We CANNOT WAIT to get back and are currently trying to sell our house. We are giving Jackson Creek a serious look. We work from home and need GOOD Elem, Jr. & High Schools (4 kids ). Any thoughts????

There is a new high school being constructed and opening in fall called Palmer Ridge High School. This should really help out Lewis Palmer High School (the school for JC). I think the elementary is Grace Best, on the other side of the highway and Creekside MS. Creekside is a beautiful school, my kids spend a lot of time there doing sports.
A brand new YMCA opened in the Jackson Creek area. It is a long awaited amenity for the area. A lot of Tri Lakes folks had been going to the Briargate YMCA and now they'll go to this new YMCA. Plus a ton of people are bailing out of the Woodmoor Pines "Country Club" to go to the YMCA.
Living in/near Monument affords someone the ability to work in both the Springs and south Denver. I think that is very important.
Check out Frex - FrontRange Express to get down to Denver. Free wireless internet on the bus.

We looked at Jackson Creek before we bought in Woodmor. The homes are nice, but have smaller lots, resembling developments in SoCal. We've got to know some folks who live there and can certainly appreciate the attraction of having a street packed with families with kids. Plus there are parks within walking distance from most homes. I still love where we live now, but would highly recommend Jackson Creek.
Good luck with your move.

Thanks! It looks like there is really nice affordable family oriented housing in the area. Hopefully we will be able to take a house hunting trip VERY soon!

I have "intimate" knowledge of Jackson Creek if you care to PM me with specific questions. I used to work on their website...not anymore though but yeah I do know the owners of the place - via my brother.

Just curious; which hometown in Arizona and why do you want to return to the springs?
I grew up in Phoenix, worked in Colorado Springs from 1977, and have decided to stay here for retirement. The Phoenix I remember from the '60s no longer exists. We returned for a visit and were overwhelmed by the sprawl, traffic, and air pollution. Also, it sure seems a lot hotter than I remember. I love being able to open windows here in summer and breathe fresh air.

Vision 67,
Mesa is the hometown. I could write a book about why we would like to return to the Springs, but here are the highlights: HATE the whole Phoenix area, too much crime, bad air, rude people, fake people, very much about money here, the Springs is refreshing - just looking out the window and seeing the mountains is enough to put a smile on my face, the people are generally nice there, very down to earth, a blue jeans kind of town, plenty of sunshine, the seasons change, flowers actually grow, the air is crisp, the schools are good. Those are just the things I can think of of the top of my head. Living here is depressing. People are crazy. Yesterday I took my kids (age 12 & under) to play tennis at the local junior high. There was a man and his girlfriend/wife playing a few courts down. He called her an "a" several times and very loudly said the "f" word at least 15 times in the 1/2 hour that we were there. CRAZY, I tell you. No sense of respect/decency. Ughh....
