Default Retail management -- couple ???

We visited Co springs about 6 yrs ago and since then have been looking and trying to get ourselves moved over there. I posted a while back about the job market but regarding a specific co. Can anyone tell me what the retail management business is like?? My husband has 12 yrs exp. in management and we are wondering what the market is like and what the average salary would be there. We are hoping for a transfer from his current employer, but want the option of finding a new position if that doesnt come thru-- covering all our basis!I am a stay at home mom- so my job(kids) come with me wherever I go!!LOL!

Colorado Springs has a huge retail industry. Check some of the job sites (monster, career builder) and get a list of major retailers from the Chambers of Commerce so you can check individual company websites.

I would hink you should have good chances in the Springs.

Colorado is growing nicely, especially along the Front Range.... lots of people have discovered that this state is a lot more than just the high country ski resorts they see in the news.... with a 2-story snowpack melting out each Spring.... the Front Range is home to millions and is the center of gravity for the entire intermountain west.... critical mass has been reached.... in 25 years there will be a "coast" of sorts running from Cheyenne, Wy to past Pueblo, CO.... get in NOW.

Here in COS, on the north end where we live, Super Target is building now at Powers and Union, King Soopers (Kroger) is building now at Briargate Pkwy and Union, two new hospitals are almost done, a new Lowe's recently opened at Powers and Union, several big box stores just opened on Jackson Creek Pkwy, off of Baptist Road in the Gleneagles/Monument area.....a huge new hotel/retail complex will go in at Hwy 83 and Interquest Pkwy.... you name it.... it's coming....baby boomers (like us) are retiring and taking our stash out of high cost coastal areas (east and west) and coming here for the quality of life and affordability.

Open space for expansion is primarily on the North and East sides of town. On the north side and east of I-25 is Briargate, Cordera, Wolfe Ranch, Monument, and Gleneagles areas, which are affordable and lovely and have great schools. Due east of town are Falcon, Peyton, Meridian Ranch which are further east and not as retail-rich as the north end is.

There is a ton of established retail along North Academy Blvd, just about every big box retailer around is there, tons of eateries too. From my house in the Pine Creek area, I can drive north 45-55 minutes and be at Nordstrom's, The Container Store and a whole other empire of big box retail at the vicinity of Rte C-470 and I-25....

Y'all come!
