Default where to move to in colorado springs

ok, i wrote the same kind of message on the denver board. we are trying to decide between dever and colorado springs. if we go with colorado springs, can someone tell me what the "nice part of town is". where i'm from, the west side of madison is the nicest and newest. is there a part or side of colorado springs that's the newer and nice side?? also, we are mid 30's, 3 young kids and i'm a stay at home mom. my husbands office would be in colorado springs somewhere (not sure where that office is located yet). we are looking to research a nice, new subdivision to build or buy in and raise kids. preferable one that has lots of stay at home moms and kiddies!! any suggestions??

I had to dig to figure out what Madison (WI or AL) you were writing about.

What is your price range?

There are four very new family oriented neighborhoods that I would strongly recommend. They are all located on the North East side of town and would filter into D20 schools which are very highly rated. Pine Creek, Flying Horse, Cordera, and Wolf Ranch. I believe the latter three have community pools, and they are built on flat streets which is great for little kids being able to ride bikes and scooters outside. These neighborhoods are also very close to many amenities such as parks, shopping, walking trails, hospitals, doctors, etc.

I would say Stetson Hills area, or Research, Briargate area up on North powers are the newest areas. There are also some newer houses off Dublin down towards Austin Bluffs, also some nice older homes around there. Some of the homes up north off Research have smaller yards, and open fences. Another area is out west on Centennial, off Garden Of The gods. I don't know if there are many schools, or restaurants out there though.

I think you would like the weather in the "Springs" better, never boring, but not as much snow and ice as Denver, and we don't get the bad storms they do as we have the shelter of the Rampart Range on the west side. Best of luck.

Yes, I agree. I live off Dublin between Academy and Union. It's a very nice area. Most of the homes were built in the 80's and 90's so everything is pretty new, and nice looking. And the neighborhood is FULL of kids. (way too many, i'm worried i'm going to run one them over)

I live in Flying Horse (far north part of town) and absolutely love it! Our subdivision in FH is only a year old, so there are still tons of lots to choose from. I'm a SAHM to a 3 year-old daughter and have twin girls on the way. There are many kids here, and there's a great prek-high school school just up the street. We're also going to be getting a park in the neighborhood next summer, and there's already one in the "older" (a couple years old) FH subdivisions.

Flying horse is a very nice area, but I don't know if i'd want to be that far away from Academy. It's just too convienent.
