Colorado Springs.

Two new hospitals in the Briargate area, both need nurses. Housing is very affordable. Weather is cooler than Denver. COL SPGS is right at the base of the mountains, beautiful, tons of stuff to do, no Denver traffic either.

Good city for families. Two new cineplexes at I-25 exit 153 (Interquest) and they are 5 minutes from Briargate. It is possible to live in Briargate and walk to the new Memorial North hospital, be in one of the BEST school districts (D20) and be five minutes from the movies, eateries, shopping, etc.

Be careful about this statement. I do not know the nursing job market in COS, but on the rest of the Front Range, it's very competitive. Not to say you won't find a job, it just might take longer than you're used to (I was used to walking in to the Personnel Office and going home with a job in Champaign, IL) and you might not get your first choice of jobs. Of course, the positive side of that is that you might find another area of nursing that you really like!

Yeah, I laughed too when I saw that claim. Focus on the Family is only called fringe by those pushing a political agenda. FOF is mainstream right, way off from Biblical, but at least they aren't pushing evolution.

You couldn't pay me to live in Boulder. I'm not into liberal femi-nazi's that prowl the CU campus.

Lemme ask everyone here a question (maybe it was sorta asked before, maybe not). You've heard the phrase "Join the Club" relative to Utah (i.e. LDS). How does conformity and "club concept" hold up in other parts such as CS and Boulder? Is conformity the least of anyone's concerns in CS or Boulder? IMO in Boulder even a Libertarian can feel out of place. Not meaning to stir hot coals but really want to get an eye on conformity of Boulder and CS relative to one another and to UT.

Have issues of "club and conformity" send anyone packing from CS or Boulder?

Comments?

Boulder vs. C Springs - way different. Way, way different.

I chose C springs because of my family but my brothers are raising kids here so on that level I see that C Springs is a great bet. It's cheaper to live here than in North Denver Metro area, easy to get around town (unlike Denver Metro - I did live there) and over all for families, excellent place to raise kids.

Don't get me wrong, as a 20 something I loved the Denver area but seeing my neices and nephews thrive down here, if I had my own kids I would rather raise them here than in the Denver area.

Been here 35 of my almost 40 years - spent time in Grand Junction and Denver and of course here in C Springs. I would rather live in Grand junction (seeing as I don't have kids - GJ is not a great place for having kids) but C Springs is a pretty darn good place.
