Night of the living IDLERS!!!!
OH man, this must happen everywhere! I am laughing right now, cause I almost drove over a car that stopped DEAD center in front of a light the other day to let somebody out and take a picture of a cool "historic Key West home". And I thought it was just vacation mentality...
Did I mention the light was green, it was during rush hour, and there were already about 14 cars behind me? Welcome to a 2x4 mile island! I can seriously feel the pain when I see someone trying to park an Excursion parallel on the street!
It appears people have their heads up their ass everywhere! And of course, there are the older people. While I know this will aggravate you, sorry! I will NEVER get upset for someone driving the speed limit, but going 20 in a 35...If you can't stay with the flow of traffic (as is the LAW) Stay off the road!!!
I agree with most of the posts though. Slow stays right, we all know that's law everywhere. Just like change lanes and slow down if a cop is on the side, don't speed up when somebody is passing you. But then, us Americans are always known for following the rules!!!

I agree with the substandard programming of the lights. But I haven't seen an increased number of people running the red lights, though.

The way I understand it in P-Dub, you've got 30 mph unless it's posted 45 as I believe it is for all of McCulloch.
Then, once they get on Route 50, they drive like a bat out of hell and 75 isn't fast enough for em and they pass you, no matter how fast you're going, they have to be in front. Driving here makes me go
I say let em go. If they want to drive 75+ in a 65 mph limit, hats off to them! I'll go 70 in that 65, but no more. If some dude in an F-350 or soccer mom wants to pass me in her Expedition, I'll get over and let them run scout for me. Let them head on up the road and flush out the speed traps for me.
Most dorks on 50 want to tailgait you, but when you get over into the slow lane, they won't pass you. It's like they need to grow a pair or get some hair or something. They want to push you to go faster, but they won't lead the way.
I hate how they all get into the passing lane for that eventual left turn 5 miles up the road. Then they "Convoy" with the car in the slow lane so nobody can pass on the right or left to go the freaking speed limit.
I usually have to issue driving lessons daily for these dorks.
And what's with all the dips in the roads? Almost every car I see is an suv or pickup who can ignore them anyhow...(yet they come to a near stop for them, go figure...)
All of the roads in P-Dub are one big dip if you ask me.
Then there's the street signs, they aren't always there! I had to go to Fortino Blvd yesterday. I thought I knew where it was, but I wasn't sure. So, I had my gps and it was telling me to take a left, but I couldn't see a street sign to be sure it was in fact the right street. The street sign was on the other side of the highway for the opposite traffic Many places don't have street signs, sometimes they are way high up and you have to hunt for them. Very inconsistent.
Ha! That's what I figured. I'd like to get a GPS sometime, but when I think about using one in my hometown, it just seems like it'd be a waist. I already know the roads better than any Garmin ever would; it would have to have in a built in fish-finder to or something.

Bottom line; the people in Pueblo West should have their head examined because when the speed limit on 50 was 55, they used to drive 80. Now that it's 65, they drive 55.
I've driven in a lot of towns and cities in the US and Mexico and have never ever had a problem with Colorado Springs compared to other places and anybody who complains about traffic there always makes me laugh. Just got back from Vegas. Now that's some crazy traffic there. I managed to avoid the Strip the whole time I was there and got really familiar with Flamingo, Tropicana, Dean Martin, 15, Maryland, Sahara, Charleston, and I did it without a Garmin. Now to sit there on Las Vegas blvd and complain about traffic is ludacris. I can think of no place in Southern Colorado where you get that kind of traffic unless there's a bad wreck.

A lot of drivers here are very rude.
I've found that changing lanes is frowned upon. Every time I go to change lanes between vehicles, I (used to) put my signal on ahead of time, then would move over. Almost every time, the car behind me would speed up. @sshole. Now I get half way over, then put my signal on.
Then there are the drivers who drive in the fast lane going the same speed (usually speed limit or 5 mph below) as the car in the slow lane but a half car length in front of them. Do you think you're the city's pace car?To quote Ludacris "move ******, get out the way"
Lastly, learn to merge! Look ahead. Anticipate traffic. I don't know how many times I've seen or been behind a driver who has come to a complete stop in the merge lane when they could have easily merged right in. They will wait for the traffic to get there and then start looking for a place to fit, or worse, wait for the next red light to stop traffic so they can putter on their way.

I drove in France, Lyon to the French Alps to ski for 4 days and back...then through Annecy to Genève Switzerland and back...
It was not uncommon to be going 160 kph and get passed. Those cars have some getup and go, too! Tight suspensions and pretty well running up and down hills. Those people may drive aggressive, but I'd never once seen a wreck while I was out there. Boy, if there was one I wouldn't want to be involved.

YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT ME?!!!?
Interesting...I have been paying more attention to the drivers since I read this post. I think I am one of your "slow" drivers because everyone passes me and I don't notice any slow drivers.
But then again, I drive the speed limit. On the interstate, I do 55-56mph (MLK-Woodmen). Everyone drives past me like I am standing still!! But then again...I don't ever worry about getting a speeding ticket. Additionally, I know that traffic is backed up behind me when I drive in the middle lane and I can see everyone get annoyed as they zip past me--but hey! it does say 55mph.

A speed limit is a maximum under all conditions unless a minimum is posted. If the traffic is bumper to bumper you are supposed to allow enough space in front of you to stop. By weaving in front of people and cutting them off by one-half car length at 65 you are driving recklessly, under the law. The problem is, the person behind always gets the ticket, even if you are the 15th car behind the idiot.
I agree with CO-Canuck--they may not be following the letter of the law, they are just rude.
