How come these 'what I don't like...' posts always have pages and pages of responses? None of them with any real meaningful info.

Its to broad of a statement, maybe a thread that asked what could be done to make the springs a better city would be more informative.

Good idea, then people some folks might actually think before responding, instead of just griping.

Time to add another useless post to this thread,
What I don't like about Colorado Springs:
Nearly everything.

I will say this, it seems like Denver residents like Pueblo more then the Springs...

It does seem that every post by josseppie here in the Colorado Springs forum area is about how Pueblo is better. ...wait there is another one above!
I certainly don't know where that came from - "...seems like Denver residents like Pueblo more...". The fact is that there are actually many people who commute all the way from Colorado Springs to Denver. They must like the Springs for some reason when they are willing to commute so far!

This could be a useful thread. If people weren't so defensive.

Actually, I like both...
I agree with Josseppie that CS could learn a lot from Pueblo's example. Pueblo has done a great job in making the most of their best assets: their historic core and the Arkansas River. Many industrial towns in a similar situation have gone into irreversible decline, and Pueblo has bucked those odds and is enjoying something of a resurgence. CS also has an impressive historic core hidden away in the flurry of development: pretty much everything from Manitou to OCC to downtown CS. But Pueblo (at least in the past 10 years or so), has made a lot more of what they have than CS has.
Still, despite everything that Pueblo has done right, I think CS has more potential. I think that new leadership is needed in CS to see that potential realized, however.

I agree, Colorado Springs does have more potential now in reinventing its older areas and downtown, mainly due to the fact they are larger thus have more resources. That being said the "window" of opportunity for Colorado Springs to take is not that big and if they do not capitalize on it in the next 10 years Pueblo will catch up and the advantage the Springs enjoys now will be gone.....
